Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." (John 6:68)
When I came to faith in my 30s, I was already an educator and a homeschooling mother. As I sought to figure out what it meant to bring up my children "in the discipline and instruction of the Lord," I discovered the classical Christian method. The classical Christian model intuitively appealed to me, but it was not until I began homeschooling my children classically and then teaching at a classical Christian homeschool co-op that the beauty of the method really became clear. The acknowledgement of God as the source of all truth, the integration of subjects, and the focus on training affections not only guided how I taught but also allowed me to redeem my own education as I homeschooled my children. History and literature and math and science become so much richer and more beautiful when studied with God as both the foundation and the end. I am excited to continue to teach (and learn!) here at BCS.
