BCS Endowment Fund

We are excited to announce the establishment of the BCS Endowment Fund. Thanks to a group of generous charter donors, we have been able to establish this investment fund that will generate earnings to support the mission of the school over a longer time period while preserving the principal. 

Who holds the investment fund?

We have partnered with Thrivent Charitable Impact & Investing, a Minneapolis-based firm that assists faith based, non-profit organizations in managing their endowment funds. They provide professional investment advice and models that will help to grow the funds and generate income for the school. 

Types of donations:

• Cash
• Appreciated stock
• Real Estate
• Beneficiary proceeds
• Qualified charitable donations from traditional IRAs
• Proceeds from charitable vehicles such as donor-advised funds

What is the purpose of the fund?

The fund has been established as a way to appeal to legacy-minded donors who wish to see their donations benefit the school beyond the timeframe of the annual budget. The fund has been a strategic objective for the school as we consider ways to build the school for future generations of students who will be bold ambassadors for Christ.

How will the earnings of the Endowment Fund support the school?

We anticipate that the fund will generate earnings and growth in principal that can assist teachers and our Head of School with projects that might fall outside of the annual budget, as well as supporting scholarships for deserving families. We would anticipate an annual application process that would administered through the school board.

In addition to cash, many other types of donations can be made as part of an overall financial and estate plan. These would include appreciated stock, real estate, beneficiary proceeds from life insurance or a will, and qualified charitable donations (QCDs) from traditional IRAs, as well as proceeds from charitable vehicles such as donor-advised funds.
